Had written some heavy shit, took it down. Wanting a lighter tone to the blog.
Not quite yet sure what constitutes a lighter tone. I want to write here about everything my mind, and there’s a lot of dark stuff to think about.
The problem I have is that the original impetus for starting this blog came from a really serious place, and a lot of what I want to talk about is from that direction. I want to write about how the Epstein documents have affected paraphiles, and about zoo ethics, and about disability sexuality, and about more.
I also want to post silly stories and art and music and stuff. I have no idea who will read them, but I don’t do these things for other people.

Speaking of Epstein…
Good god I am not looking forward to the paraphile backlash off of this one. The internet is Big Mad at the Billionaire Pedophile Cabal, and once again pedophile is being used as a synonym for abuser. The crowd seems like they’re growing more radicalized, hopefully we don’t wind up in a situation where we’re openly being hounded out. All because of a tangental association with billionaires!
This time, however, seems reasonably contained towards zoos so far. I’ve not seen almost anyone calling out paraphiles as a class, and only one person explicitly mentioning zoophiles. They had someone in the comments defending us, too! Not by defending animals, unfortunately, using the vegetarianism argument and saying we’re just as bad as factory meat, which is not a good look for us. Are we not past this?
Hopefully zooey seeds are growing anyway. It’s reassuring to see that there are people out there who will defend us, even if they kind of suck at it, and I can’t complain about having allies.
I just wish they didn’t suck at it.

Olympic Interruptions
Apparently they interrupted the Olympics today for a breaking news announcement that a woman named Nancy Guthrie had been kidnapped. Why? There are thousands of people who go missing every day, why interrupt the Olympics?
After the release of the Epstein files I’m feeling so conspiracy-minded. This feels simply like an attempt to distract, I’m predicting a new stupid scandal every day for weeks, or months. Or “until morale improves”.

Getting set up…
Slowly getting everything set up, initial pages are coming along nicely. I can’t upload images yet, but I can post text. This editor is a nightmare, however, surely there’s something more elegant available?
